KU has a allowed me to grow into the person I am today. Through the amazing student opportunities our university provides, I developed a strong passion for public service. I'm very thankful to share this passion with Grow KU and make a difference on campus!

I have grown at KU through the people. Everyone here is very friendly and accepting and you can be who you want to be. There is no better place to attend school!

At KU, I've grown about 4 inches as a person, but I've also come to appreciate everyone around me and the hard work they put in to help others around them.

This university deserves leaders who are ready to stand up for student rights and take up the challenges necessary for growth. Our experiences at KU have shown us how important it is to have input from all corners of campus, and we're committed to collaborating with more people to bring a culture change not only to Student Senate, but to the entire student community.

It's vital for students to produce the change that we would like to see on campus, and our team is prepared to take the steps necessary to make this happen. We're so fortunate to belong to this Jayhawk Nation, and we're excited to collaborate with campus entities to continue the growth of our university.

Our Mission.

We are committed to representing the University of Kansas while encouraging diversity of cultures and promoting inclusivity. By challenging the status quo, we shall strive to make an inclusive and transparent impact on our campus to engage the university in community growth.

A diversity of cultures and experiences is necessary for Student Senate to fulfill its mission. Grow KU will establish a part-time executive staff position in partnership with the Office of Multicultural Affairs to intentionally bring underrepresented voices into the Senate chambers. This position will also work with organizations across campus to ensure they have the necessary support from Student Senate to flourish.

The distributed antenna system recently installed at KU will improve mobile phone capacity on campus, particularly during large events like KU basketball and football games. While AT&T installed the vendor neutral system, Grow KU will work with KU Information Technology to bring other major mobile providers to campus so everyone can benefit, regardless of their service provider.

Jayhawks understand that hard work in the classroom should pay off, and your grades shouldn’t reflect an inconsistent grading system. Grow KU will work with the KU Governance to standardize the plus/minus grading system and ensure that similar courses are graded on the same scale, providing students an equal platform to display their hard work.

Students not only deserve a strong voice on campus, but also a strong voice in Topeka. Grow KU is committed to establish a student PAC that will advocate higher education in the Kansas Legislature.

Our 600+ student organizations are what makes KU so organic. We will work to increase relationships between all of our campus groups to emphasize cooperative programming and cross-pollination of student success.

Protecting the environment should be simple for Jayhawks. Our campus needs a clear and effective way to recycle. Grow KU will work with on-campus recycling programs to implement a Single Stream Recycling process for the university to encourage sustainability.

Join the conversation:

Our students deserve to grow in a safe environment. By working with KU Public Safety Office, GrowKU will focus on improving campus lighting and updating emergency poles to deliver peace of mind and a secure place to live and learn.

Grow KU will work to create a campus environment that nurtures mental health and maintains a positive opinion about community wellness. We will provide alternative payment plans for students who otherwise would not be able to afford these campus services.
